A well-maintained knife is a sharp knife is a happy knife
A good knife should never be put in the dishwasher. Wash your knives as soon as you are done using them with warm water and soap, using a sponge or dishcloth. Never clean your knives with steel wool. Dry your knife and store it properly, either in a block, on a magnetic strip (placing the heel first so as not to chip the blade), or wrapped in a dry towel.
