About the Recipe
You can use any crunchy, salty snack as the bottom layer, but we prefer saltines. You can also use any kind of chocolate to coat.
Ingredients
Saltine Crackers
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 cup Butter
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or equivalent
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350
Cover baking sheet with parchment paper
Spread saltines on sheet in single layer
Melt butter and sugar over medium heat
Cook until frothy and lightened in color
Pour over saltines and spread evenly
Cook in oven until caramel darkens, about 8 minutes
Remove from oven, scatter chocolate on top
After chocolate has softened, spread evenly over surface
Allow to cool, refrigerate to harden, break into desired size pieces
