About the Recipe

Be careful to fully coat the chicken with the seasoned flour. If you combine this recipe with our sandwich buns, pickles, and fry sauce, you have the best dang chicken sammich you ever did taste.

Ingredients


  • 2 lbs Boneless, Skinless Chicken Thighs

  • 1 quart Buttermilk

  • 1 tbsp Hot Sauce

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 2 tsp MSG (optional)

  • Oil for frying

  • 2 c AP flour

  • 1 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp old bay

  • 1 tsp black pepper

Preparation

Combine buttermilk with garlic powder, hot sauce and 1 tsp MSG


Place chicken in bowl, cover with buttermilk mixture, marinate in refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight


Heat oil to 350


Combine flour and seasonings


Drizzle buttermilk mixture into flour to create crispy bits


Coat chicken thoroughly in flour mixture, carefully shaking off excess


CAREFULLY lower chicken into oil, frying for 10-12 minutes or until deep golden brown


Remove chicken to wire rack, season with salt
