About the Recipe
This basic recipe can be used to pickle virtually anything. I've done cucumber, carrot, tomato, and onion to great success. You can try different spices or vinegars to adjust the flavor. Add a hot pepper to get spicy pickles!

Ingredients
1 1/3 cup water
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp MSG (optional)
1-2 cucumbers, sliced
2 cloves garlic
a few sprigs of dill weed
Preparation
Combine liquid and dry ingredients in a saucepan (excluding cucumber, garlic, dill weed)
Bring to a boil to dissolve ingredients
Slice cucumber, place in mason jar with garlic cloves and dill weed
Cover with brine mixture and seal jar
Refrigerate overnight
