About the Recipe
My favorite way to prepare steak, it works for any steak at any thickness. Medium-rare is the best doneness in my opinion.
Ingredients
Steak
Salt
Pepper
Garlic powder
Preparation
Preheat oven to 225
Place steak on a wire rack on a baking sheet
Bake for 20-30 minutes depending on desired doneness
Season steak liberally on both sides with salt and pepper (and garlic powder, optionally)
Place skillet over medium high/ high heat and coat bottom with neutral oil
Sear steak for ~ 1 minute on both sides or until a nice golden-brown crust forms
Rest steak for at least 5 minutes
Slice thinly and enjoy
